This past week i went to New Orleans Fashion Week to see my very first Matthew Arthur Fashion show… Mat has been a close friend of mine for some years now but i have never been able to see his shows only some of his work on him self and our friends.. His work is really amazing esp to think he does it all by hand while being wildly fab and working full time.. I really feel in love with the colors and prints as well as these drop pleat shorts that i must have for next years spring/summer…
he told me the idea of the show was someone going from sober through addiction and back again… though out the show as the models slinked out as if in a hung over state you saw different looks to represent different stages like a metallic vinyl skirt to represent a mirrored surface or the wild prints. His hair and make up he said he saw in a dream.. that he wouldnt budge on the mint lip even if it was distracting to some.. i personally loved the mint lips and the slick hair with fishtail braids on top..
